‏ایک بار جب قائد اعظم کوئٹہ میں تھے، یحییٰ بختیار نے انہیں  اپنی کھینچی ہوئی  کچھ تصویریں دکھائیں. قائد اعظم نــے  پسند فرمائیں اور اپنی  کچھ  تصویریں کھینچنے کی فرمائش کی.
دوسرے دن  یحییٰ بختیار اپنا کیمرہ اور فلیش لے کر قائداعظم کی  قیام گاہ پہنچے.
‏اُس وقت قائد اعظم احادیث پر مشتمل ایک کتاب جس کا  ٹائیٹل  ”الحدیث“ تھا  پڑھ  رہے تھـے.
یحییٰ بختیار چاہتے تھے کہ وہ قائد اعظـم کی تصویر ایسے زاویہ سے لیں کہ کتاب کا ٹائیٹل بھی فوکس میں آسکے ، لیکن قائد اعظـم نـے تصویر کھنچوانے سے پہلے کتاب علیحدہ رکھہ دی اور کہا
‏”میں ایک مقدس کتاب کو اس قسم کی پبلسٹی کا موضوع بنانا پسند نہیں کرتا۔"

یحییٰ بختیار  بعد میں پاکستان کے اٹارنی جنرل بنے. انہوں نے منیر احمد منیر کو انٹرویو میں اس بات  کی تصدیق کی۔

یہ کراچی کا سب سے زیادہ منظم بس اڈہ  تھا۔باقاعدہ طور پر بسوں کی ترتیب سے لائنوں کے لئیے چھ سات پلیٹ فارم بنے ہوئے تھے اور ہر روٹ کی بس اپنے پلیٹ فارم میں داخل ہوکر اپنی باری کا انتظار کرتی۔ اس وقت ہم جیسے سینئیر سٹیزن پرائمری اسکول میں پڑھا کرتے تھے اور انہی بسوں میں سوار ہوکر اسکول جاتےتھے۔ سب سے زیادہ متاثر کن بات یہ تھی کہ  گزشتہ جنریشن  یعنی اس زمانے کے مشاق احمد یوسفی کے ہم عمر لوگ ایک انتہائی منظم انداز میں پلیٹ فارم پر لائن میں کھڑے ہوکربس  میں داخل ہونے کا انتظار کرتے ان میں سے اکثریت ٹاور  اور آئی آئی چندریگر روڈ کے بینکوں، پریس اور تجارتی دفاتر  میں کام کرنے والوں کی ہوتی تھی۔جب بس کی تمام سیٹیں پر ہوجاتیں تو پھر لائن میں لگے باقی لوگ اگلی بس کا انتظار کرتے یا وہ لوگ جنہیں بس میں کھڑے ہوکر جانے کی جلدی ہوتی وہ سوار ہوجاتے پھر اسی پلیٹ فارم پر بنے ہوئے اخبار کی دکان پر براجمان  تازہ ترین اخبارسے نظریں ہٹاکر سیٹی  بجادیتا اور بس  یہ جا وہ جا کبھی کسی ٹریفک سپاہی کو اس جگہ نہیں دیکھا۔ مسافر زیادہ تر خود ہجرت کرکے اس آبادی میں آئے تھے اس لئیے اور قاعداعظم کے بتائے ہوئے زریں اصولوں پر عمل پیرا تھے اس نسل کے معدوم ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ وہ اصول بھی معدوم ہوگئے۔ 

بسوں کی  نسل بھی  تاریخی تھی  زیادہ تر THAMES برانڈڈ تھیں  اکثر بسوں کو لوہے کی ایک L   نما چابی کو بس کی تھوتھنی میں ڈال کر زور سے گھماکر اسٹارٹ کیا جاتاتھاڈرائیور گرمی کے دنوں میں  روشندان نما ونڈ شیلڈ کو کھول کر بس چلاتا اور تمام مسافر  صبح صبح کی تازہ  ہواسے لطف اندوز ہوتے  ہوئے ٹاور یا کیماڑی پہنچ جاتے اس سے اندازہ لگایاجاسکتاہے کہ اس وقت کی ہوا میں آلودگی نام کی کوئی چیز نہ تھی پھربعد میں فکسڈ ونڈاسکرین کی بسیں اور آلودگی  ساتھ ساتھ آئیں۔

بس کے پچھلے دروازے سے ایک ستلی نما ڈوری بس کی کھڑکیوں کے اوپر سے ہوتی ہوئی ڈرائیور کے اوپر چھت پر لگی ایک گھنٹی سے جڑی ہوتی کنڈیکٹر کو بس رکوانی ہوتی تو ایک بار چلوانی ہوتی  تو دوبار  وہ ڈوری کھینچ کر گھنٹی بجادیتا۔  لیکن اکثر طالبعلم نظر بچاکر اور گھنٹی بجاکرتفریح لیتےیوں گاڑی باربار   رکتی اور بار چلتی  پھر دفتر لیٹ ہونے والے مسافروں کی اصلی اور گاڑھی اردوسے شرارتی طالبعلم لطف اندوز ہوتے۔

یہ تھا کراچی کی پی آئی بی کالونی کا بس اڈہ۔

میری ویدر کلاک ٹاور ایک گوتھک کلاک ٹاور ہے جو وکٹورین دور میں کراچی ، پاکستان میں بنایا گیا تھا۔ 
یہ ٹاور وسطی کراچی کا ایک تاریخی مقام ہے، اور یہ وسطی کراچی کی دو اہم ترین سڑکوں محمد علی جناح روڈ اور آئ آئ چندریگر روڈ کو علیحدہ کرتا ہے۔ یہ ٹاور شہر کی حدود کی نشاندہی کرتا تھا جب کیماڑی کی بندرگاہ سے آتے تھے، اور کراچی کے اولڈ ٹاؤن اور مشرق میں اس کے نئے یورپی کوارٹرز کے درمیان تقسیم کی لکیر کی نشاندہی کرتا تھا۔ 

میری ویدرٹاورکو عوامی رکنیت کے ذریعے سر ولیم L. Merewether کی یادگار کے طور پر بنایا گیا تھا،  جنہوں نے 1867ء سے 1877ء تک سندھ کے کمشنر کے طور پر خدمات انجام دیں تھیں۔
اسے کراچی کے میونسپل انجینئر جیمز اسٹریچن نے ڈیزائن کیا تھا، اس کا سنگ بنیاد بمبئی کے گورنر سر جیمز فرگوسن نے 1884ء میں رکھا تھا۔ اسے باضابطہ طور پر 1892ء میں سندھ کے کمشنر سر ایوان جیمز نے 37,178 روپے کی لاگت سےتعمیر ہونے کے بعد عوام کے لیے کھولا تھا۔

REX CINEMA ROUNDABOUT- BEFORE THE MUSICAL FOUNTAIN: Before the iconic musical fountain that once stood at the Rex Cinema roundabout [now Fawara Chowk]—there appears to have been a statue of a man in Western attire, standing formally with arms at his sides.

This rare photograph, dated August 14, 1954, shows the statue clearly, with Independence Day crowds and paramilitary presence nearby. In the background, you can spot a Caltex petrol pump—a once-familiar brand in Karachi. Interestingly, while the gas station still exists, it no longer operates under the Caltex name.

This Car Rally was organized by Karachi Gymkhana and the winner of the Rally was Mr. Ashraf Agha.

it was a stop over at Muslim Gymkhana. In those days in Karachi. The Parsi community had started the Car Rally all over Karachi in the Ramzan months.

Then Karachi Gymkhana members introduced the Car Rally as a non Parsi activity.

In these Car Rally’s activities are a game.

The participants are given around 20 riddles on places(shops, hotels and restaurants) from where all participants are supposed to collect items from the mentions places in the list of the Rally.

And the participant who answers and collects all items from the mentioned places is the winner of the car rally.

These car rally’s are not to race cars all over Karachi its a game of intelligence and swiftness.

In the up coming Ramzan the Parsi community will be organizing a Car Rally for Parsis only.

لکشمی بلڈنگ پاکستان کی آزادی کے وقت کراچی کی سب سے اونچی عمارت تھی اور یہ 1955 تک قائم رہی جب کھارادر میں قمر ہاؤس نے اسے پیچھے چھوڑ دیا۔ اسے لکشمی انشورنس کمپنی کے لیے بنایا گیا تھا اور اسے آرٹ ڈیکو انداز میں مقامی فرم Maysers DH Daruwala & Co. نے ڈیزائن کیا تھا، جس میں ہندوستان کنسٹرکشن کمپنی بطور ٹھیکیدار تھی۔ عمارت کی سرخ اینٹیں لاہور سے کمپنی کے مالک لالہ لاجپت رائے کی درخواست پر جے پور سے منگوائی گئیں۔ اسے سرکاری طور پر کرسمس کے موقع پر 1938 میں بھارتی شاعرہ اور سیاسی کارکن سروجنی نائیڈو نے کھولا تھا۔

اصل میں، ہندو دیوی لکشمی کی ایک مورتی عمارت کے اوپر رکھی گئی تھی، لیکن اسے آزادی کے بعد 1947 میں ہٹا دیا گیا تھا۔ آزادی کے بعد کے فسادات کے نتیجے میں کئی ہندو ہلاک ہوئے، اور عمارت کے مالکان ہندوستان چلے گئے، جس کے نتیجے میں مجسمے کو ہٹا دیا گیا۔

یہ پلانٹ ضیاء الدین ہسپتال نارتھ ناظم آباد والے کے بلکل ساتھ تھا اس میں روٹی نان اور ڈبل روٹی بنتی تھی پلانٹ گورنمنٹ کا تھا مگر زمین عثمان برادرز کی تھی جب یہ پلانٹ بند ہوا تو اس کی مشینری حسن اسکوائر کے سامنے کباڑ میں ڈال دیی گئی اس حسن اسکوائر کی جگہ بھٹو دور کا ایک اور شاندار منصوبہ ملک پلانٹ تھا جس کا نام ملک پیک تھا نیسلے نے یہ پلانٹ خرید لیا اور آج تک اسے ملک پیک کے نام سے ہی چلا رہا ہے مزے کی بات یہ ہے کہ اس دور میں یہ ٹیٹرا پیک میں آتا تھا اس وقت تک پاکستان میں ٹیٹرا بریکس نہیں آئی تھی مزے کی بات یہ کہ نیسلے نے نا تو اس کا نام تبدیل کیا نہ ہی اس کی پرنٹ ڈیزائن نہ ہی ڈبہ کا کلر اس کا ڈبل روٹی کا پلانٹ ڈان نے خرید کر ڈان بریڈ کر دیا جو آج تک اسی کولٹی کے ساتھ جاری ہے اس روٹی پلانٹ کی پروڈکٹ R.C.P کے نام سے آتی تھی میں اس وقت چوتھی کلاس میں پڑھتا تھا اور روز صبح اس کی فیکٹری کے گیٹ سے ڈبل روٹی خریدتا تھا 1978 میں بڑی ڈبل روٹی دو روپے پینتیس پیسے کی آتی تھی اور پانچ روٹی کا پیکٹ ایک روپے پندرہ پیسے۔

The first building on the right is Krishna Mansion and the joining building is LOTIA building which is in the corner of Inveririty road and Elephinston street. Since the picture is of early times Alpha restautaurant came in place of Oriental Emporium which was a carpet shop. Next to it was Philco refrigerator and air-condition shop owner by a Parsi. Next to it was a Chinese restaurant called cafe Canton which was later sold to United bank. LOTIA building had a very big Dairy Products and later sold into two shops, Zawar book store, Iran and Bokhara Palace carpets. After the main gate of LOTIA building was a small store named Shakoor store and next to it was Zaffarin watch store which was later bought by one Mr.Zaffar and opened a shop of marbles named ZAFFAR marbles. On the right side of these 2 buildings was a building known as Electric House owned by a Parsi Eduljee Dinshaw and the sold to some builder who has made Madina centre. There was also National bank of Pakistan Saddar branch opposite Alpha restaurant. One thing I want to add here is that no one from the group has has ever mentioned or enquired about what was there before Atrium plaza and I am sure the new generation doest not know at all. Since the picture has been shared Atrium mall is adjacent to LOTIA building and opposite Excelsior Hotel. It was a two acre plot and on it existed Marina hotel which was basically a liquor bar(PUB) catering for the British forces and for locals too. Later the name was changed into Hotel Palm Grove.Behind this Atrium mall was another 2 acres land where there was D'Souza photographers and some residential flat whis was also purchased by Atrium. Next to Atrium mall was a house of some Parsi which was on 4 acres it was sold and not stand Panorama Centre.

Originally, Karachi was made up of a cluster of fishermen’s huts on the three islands of Manora, Bhit and Baba.

The town started to develop when the British established relations with the rulers of Sind, first during the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1635 and later during the rule of Ghulam Shah Kalhora in 1758, by setting up factories or Kothees.

The British occupied Karachi during the First Anglo-Afghan War in 1839 and after annexation the city developed rapidly.

بس نمبر 17A صدر سے (کورنگی پانچ نمبر سے سیدھے ہاتھ کو مڑ کر) کورنگی چھ مارکیٹ تک جاتی تھی،

بس نمبر 17B صدر سے (کورنگی پانچ نمبر سے سیدھے ہاتھ کو مڑ کر) کورنگی سو کوارٹر تک جاتی تھی،

بس نمبر 17C صدر سے (کورنگی پانچ نمبر سے الٹے ہاتھ کو مڑ کر) کورنگی کے ایریا تک جاتی تھی،
